10 Epic Moments The Undertaker Broke Character In WWE
2. The American Badass
In late 1999, The Undertaker took a hiatus from WWE due to injuries. Although his mortician gimmick had became edgier during the attitude era, he was still essentially the same demonic character. But when he eventually returned in May 2000, everything was different. The traditional Undertaker character was broken, in favour of an American biker character. The old music was gone, replaced by Limp Bizkit's Rollin. The slow walk to the ring was replaced by a motor bike ride. He even ditched his old dark clothes in favour of denim jumpsuits. Shades and a bandana completed his look. Whether you view this as a travesty or an edgy upgrade is entirely up to you. But when he first came out with the new character at Judgement Day 2000, it was undeniably one of the greatest and most sustained pops in WWE history.
