10 Epic Wrestling Staredowns (That Never Went Anywhere)
9. Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns (2016)
The Shield broke up in June 2014, but Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins have practically been attached at the hip ever since. They’ve taken part in a number of huge feuds and matches together, with Rollins usually playing the antagonist, and November saw them reunite to deliver a trademark Triple Powerbomb to AJ Styles at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
They’ve feuded as a trio, and Rollins has indulged in singles feuds with both of his former brothers. Despite this, WWE are still to pull the trigger on Reigns vs. Ambrose, though they’ve teased it on multiple occasions. Their only one-on-one bout was back in November 2015, when Reigns defeated Dean in the WWE Championship tournament finals, and things got tetchy a couple of months later.
The duo were guests on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel, and things got a little awkward as the host tried to stir the pot. With both set to compete in a Triple Threat at that weekend’s Fastlane pay-per-view, the two joked about their strategy, before Roman made a comment on Dean’s inability to beat him, drawing ‘The Lunatic Fringe’ in for a staredown.
The moment didn’t last, however, as they were soon interrupted by The Wyatt Family, and the duo still haven't had a major singles feud.
