Bill Goldberg’s WWE comeback wasn’t without its ups and downs, but he certainly made the most of it. From flattening Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series 2016 to defeating Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship, the former WCW Champion stayed at the forefront throughout his run, crossing paths with many of WWE’s biggest stars along the way.

Goldberg announced himself as the first official Royal Rumble entrant in November, and engaged in tense encounters with a number of the bout’s top contenders during the build-up, including Roman Reigns. On January 23rd, Goldberg, Lesnar, and The Undertaker closed Raw with a major face-off, but the most intense moment was saved for that weekend, when ‘Taker and Bill crossed paths once again.

The duo had the building buzzing as they locked eyes in the Rumble, and after Bill had eliminated Rusev and Luke Harper, he was bundled out by ‘The Deadman.’ Goldberg was exasperated, but given their part-time schedules and rapidly shortening careers, they never had a chance to follow-up on the confrontation.

There’s no guarantee the match would’ve been any good, of course, but the stare-down went over well.
