10 Epic Wrestling Staredowns (That Never Went Anywhere)

5. Brock Lesnar & Hulk Hogan (2014)

WWE love pandering to their legends, and while Hulk Hogan has fallen out with the company on several different occasions, he’s always treated like a returning hero. This will likely be the case when he inevitably returns from his recent Gawker-induced blacklisting, but it’ll take some effort to outdo the 61st birthday party thrown for him in August 2014.

With Howard Finkel as master of ceremonies, Hogan was joined in the ring by Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, The Outsiders, and other faces from his past. Of course, moments like this never pass without a hitch, and Brock Lesnar soon grew tired of the charade and made the interruption.

Tension filled the air as Lesnar glared his way through the legends one by one, before inevitably locking eyes with Hogan. ‘The Hulkster’ stepped forward, with his unflinching glare bringing the crowd to their feet, but Brock quickly burst his bubble with one simple line:

“Party’s over, Grandpa.”

John Cena ran down for the save before things could get physical, but that was the last we saw of Hogan and Lesnar. The duo were never going to wrestle, of course, but the stare-down still passed without a payoff.
