10 Epic WWE TV Matches That Could Have Been On PPV

7. Triple H Vs. Chris Benoit - Raw 2004

Iron Man matches are few and far between in WWE. The gruelling, hour-long endurance ride is a bout only select individuals are physically capable of and generally reserved for the best of the best. Which makes this next entry all the more surprising that it happened on Raw.

The culmination of a bitter feud that began all the way back in January, the Chris Benoit/Triple H rivalry of 2004 was an on/off focal point of Monday nights throughout much of the year. Just two weeks after going one-on-one for the World Heavyweight Championship at Vengeance, Benoit and Triple H would take their feud to the next level.

The two adversaries squared off in an Iron Man match on the 26 July edition of Raw - the first of its kind to ever appear on the WWE's flagship show. A wrestling clinic from start to finish, the marathon match was a fantastic display of each man's skills and showed just how talented both 'The Game' and 'The Crippler' were at the time.

When the 60 minutes were up, 'The Rabid Wolverine' stood tall with his arm raised in triumph. Not even the interference of Evolution could halt Benoit's route to victory. The final score count was 4-3 in favour of the champion.
