10 Exact Moments We Gave Up On A WWE Wrestler's Push

2. Kofi Kingston

Everyone knows that Kofi Kingston was hotter than ever at the end of 2009, when he led his Survivor Series team to victory over Legacy and began feuding with an irate Randy Orton.

Although he only beat 'The Viper' with the aid of Mark Cuban (it's sort of a long story), most of us were sure it wouldn't be long before the 'Jamaican Sensation' was fighting for the WWE title.

He got his first real chance at it on Raw in early 2010, when he faced Orton and John Cena in a triple threat match, with the winner advancing to the Royal Rumble and a match with then-champion Sheamus.

As the rank outsider, Kofi was probably always going to take the pin, but after botching the ending (to the fury of Orton, who broke kayfabe to publicly admonish his opponent), fans began to fear the worst.
