6. The Voice Of The Voiceless Is Buried By The Game (2011)

From the second 'The Voice of the Voiceless' crossed his legs at the top of the ramp on the June 27, 2011 edition of Raw, WWE knew they were onto something.

And for the next few weeks, CM Punk's quest to change things in the company was genuinely compelling as 'The Best in the World' engaged in gripping contract negotiations with his boss and even walked out of Chicago as WWE Champion at Money in the Bank.

On the night of September's Night of Champions PLE, though, the wheels well and truly fell off this summer rollercoaster ride.

After Kevin Nash had bizarrely gotten involved in the champ's business at SummerSlam, resulting in Punk losing his strap to Alberto Del Rio, the 'Chick Magnet' eventually demanded a match with 'Big Sexy' at the next PLE.

But with Nash not cleared to compete, Triple H was subbed into the contest instead.

Punk was then conquered by the COO in their No DQ battle, with Trips triumphantly keeping hold of that title in the main event.

Now sure, the loser on the night would still sit as one of the most popular figures in the company for the next few years.

However, there's no denying the fact that many struggled to get excited about Punk continuing to challenge the establishment in the months to come, this time in the form of John Laurinaitis, after seeing him fall to the COO when he was arguably at his hottest.
