10 Examples Of Triple H Being Ridiculously Selfish At WrestleMania
10. Booking Himself In Sting's First WWE Match (WrestleMania 31)
As of this writing, Sting vs. Triple H is scheduled to be one of the co-main events of WrestleMania Play Button. Mind you, Stings debut in WWE is long overdue, considering that WWE is building this rivalry around Triple H being one of, if not the central player in WCWs demise during the Monday Night Wars. Its WWE historical revisionism at its finest/worst. Basically, WWE (i.e. Vince and possibly Triple H) think that HHH is the only person in the entire company that can carry Sting to a good match and that no one else outside of the Undertaker has the star power to match Sting. The problem with this way of thinking is that this match is mainly catered towards the older fans who may still remember the Monday Night Wars, and Triple H, though a star back then, was nowhere near the megastar that Stone Cold Steve Austin was. If anything, Austin was the one that helped sway the Wars in WWFs favor, not Triple H. Unfortunately, WWE have dug themselves into a hole with this Sting situation. He debuted in WWE in 2014, LONG since past his prime, and way beyond any major relevance. If this feud happened in 2001 or 2002, it wouldve been a license to print money; but now, its more of a nostalgia match than anything. Furthermore, according to Vince, no one since John Cena in 2004 has really become a big star, so its not like the WWEs top decision-makers wouldve let anyone else face Sting anyway.
