10 Examples Of Triple H Being Ridiculously Selfish At WrestleMania

9. Sheamus Taking A Loss To Triple H (WrestleMania XXVI)

When Sheamus debuted on RAW in 2009, he was an intimidating monster that immediately forced Jamie noble into in-ring retirement (or so we thought). Within a few months of arriving on WWE€™s flagship show, he had kicked many opponents€™ heads off, and managed to win the WWE Championship from John Cena, albeit in a somewhat strange way. It seemed that he was being pushed to the moon, and speculation at the time suggested it was because he was close with Triple H. So it€™s baffling as to why Triple H defeated Sheamus at WrestleMania XXVI. After Triple H eliminated Sheamus from an Elimination Chamber match, the two squared off at WrestleMania. Now, this was Sheamus€™s first Mania, and a win here would€™ve definitely helped him recover any lost momentum from losing the WWE Title, and helped build him into an even bigger star. Instead, Triple H ended up defeating Sheamus, despite taking punishment from Sheamus for the majority of the match. What€™s even stranger was that on the RAW after Mania, Triple H was attacked by Sheamus, and at Extreme Rules 2010, Sheamus €˜put Triple H out of action indefinitely€™. Why couldn€™t that have happened at Mania instead, where Sheamus was given the dominant victory, instead of Triple H getting another win he didn€™t even need? It€™s clear that HHH was playing backstage politics for this show. He just wanted to win at Mania to satisfy his own ego, instead of helping Sheamus become an even bigger star.
