10 Examples Of Triple H Being Ridiculously Selfish At WrestleMania
5. Triple H Beating Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania XXIX)
Brock Lesnar returned to WWE the night after WrestleMania XXVIII after eight years, and attacked John Cena. After losing to Cena at Extreme Rules 2012, Lesnar proceeded to attack and eventually defeat, Triple H at SummerSlam 2012. However, it seems that Triple H couldnt let that be end of it, and demanded that Lesnar face him again at WrestleMania XXIX. Though it couldve been a good match on its own, they really added a strange stipulation: if Triple H lost, he wouldve had to retire. From that point on, it was basically a given that Triple H would win. Most anyone could see that Triple H was too big a star and too important a player in WWE to simply retire. So many smart fans went into WrestleMania 29 knowing that Triple H would win, despite the damage it would do to Lesnars reputation in WWE. In the end, because of that stipulation, which mightve been Triple Hs decision, Lesnar lost at his first WrestleMania appearance in 9 years. Fans of his wanted to see the Beast back in full swing, dominating main-eventers left, right, and center. Instead they got Triple H winning again, despite the fact that by this point, Triple H wasnt a regular on-screen active wrestler. In the grand scheme of things, Triple H couldve lost that match and it wouldnt have been a wrong choice. After all, HHH didnt do much after that event, instead opting to become an Authority figure. After all, it was implied that he had to retire from in-ring competition, not from the WWE entirely. Since he was continuing his transition to backstage stuff anyway, it wouldve made sense for him to retire at the hands of a badass athlete like Lesnar anyway.
