10 Examples Of WWE Punishment Booking

WrestleMania XX can, sort of, be considered a punishment for Brock Lesnar, although - since he was leaving the company anyway - it was sort of like banning your teenage son from having friends round after he's already moved out.

Lesnar served his WWE notice in 2004 after deciding to pursue an NFL career instead, and while we never heard any public disapproval from the company, it was a fair assumption - given how rigorously they tried to enforce his no-compete clause years later - that they weren't very happy about it.

On his final night, they had him lose comprehensively to Goldberg, before taking a Stone Cold Stunner from referee Steve Austin (but, to be fair, only after he had flipped the MSG crowd the bird).

"And don't come back," they didn't say.
