10 Excellent Reasons Why Bret "Hitman" Hart Is The Greatest Wrestler Of All-Time

1. Believability

And for the top reason why Bret was the best - was there ever a wrestler you believed more than The Pink and Black Attack?

Every move, every look and every word was delivered with such realism that Bret never once gave fans any reason to suspect that what he was doing wasn't legit. This was due, in large part, to the seriousness with which Bret took his pro-wrestling career and Hitman character. Why Bret's commitment to his craft have come to be some sort of insult or criticism these days is absolutely ridiculous and is a logic that is both incredulous and egregiously foolish.

If more people took the business and their character as seriously as Bret Hart took his, WWE would perhaps not be in the creative ditch that they're in today.

There are far too many talents whose work inside the squared circle have made it tough to believe in. Whether it's blatant spot-calling, phony or over-the-top mannerisms and maneuvers, or scripted wooden interviews containing no heart, no soul, and clearly no input from the character themselves, too many talents are unable to get the fans to buy into their act, or in other words, get over.

Bret Hart never had that problem and, when combined with all the other reasons, is why he is the Best There Is, the Best There Was and the Best There Ever Will Be.
