10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE SummerSlam 2020
4. Dominik Mysterio Vs. Seth Rollins
Expectation:
Dominik Mysterio hasn't embarrassed himself, which, considering he's a barely-trained amateur doing brawls on WWE TV in 2020, puts him forward for some sort of prize. Like a Slammy, or a WWE title belt, only, you know, prestigious. He has sold the sh*t out of a beating, not that selling was needed, and displayed perfectly adequate fire and timing on the attack. WWE, and this might not hold true anymore, since 2018 was the last exhibit, tend to nail the non-wrestler match. It's where WWE's trademark meticulous planning pays off, for once, via over-delivery.
Reality:
If it isn't a blow-away success, and people criticise it, one thing is certain. Expect Seth Rollins, who is fundamentally unable to grasp that matches or storylines in one genre can in fact differ in quality, to spit his dummy on After The Bell with Corey Graves.
"I don't get it, man. People wrestle people's sons all the time, and I don't hear any complaints about that. Nobody ever whined on Twitter when Stu Hart's son worked a match. These fans, they're so negative. They like to complain more than they like wrestling."
