10 Explanations For WWE’s Marginalisation Of Randy Savage

1. A Possible Affair With An Underage Stephanie McMahon

Randy Savage Stephanie Mcmahon Look, this is something that has to be discussed, whether we like it or not. One of the most infamous urban legends in wrestling history, the story is that Randy Savage had a sexual relationship with an underage Stephanie McMahon. The exact time of the relationship is unknown, but Stephanie turned 18 in September 1994, which is a month before Savage left the WWF, so the time frame certainly fits. The story continues that Vince would eventually find out about what happened, but not until the later part of the 1990s, long after Savage went to WCW. Think about this, and place yourself in Vince's shoes. Is there anything physically possible that would piss you off more than finding out one of your employees had sexual relations with your underage daughter? Not only would many of you hold a grudge against Randy Savage forever if you were Vince, but you probably would have been sent to prison for what you did (or at least tried to do) to him, WCW employee or not. This isn't to say that the incident did happen, but nothing else even comes close to explaining a nearly 20-year grudge that Vince has apparently had towards Savage. Vince has had people lie to him in the past. Vince has had people physically attack him in the past. Vince has had people try to run him out of business in the past. Vince has had people say some terrible things about him in interviews. With each of those instances, he has worked with those individuals again. For him to go out of his way to tell his employees to not mention Savage's name (as stories indicate) during creative meetings and directly to him, there had to have been something major done in the past. We may not want to think about this being a possibility, but we almost have no choice with how much it makes sense. Unfortunately, we'll probably never find out the 100% truth behind what happened.
