5. All Poffos Or No Poffos
Yet another version of the "Randy Savage declined a Hall Of Fame invitation when he was alive" story is that Randy has always said he wants to be inducted with his brother (former WWF wrestler, "Leaping" Lanny Poffo aka The Genius) and his father (former wrestler Angelo Poffo). After he passed away, Lanny would continue to reiterate that in several media interviews, saying that the reason his brother was never inducted is because he told WWE he wouldn't accept their invitation unless the company inducted his entire family together. Immediately, some fans saw issues with this. When Lanny was giving these interviews, his father and his brother had already passed away, so it was only him remaining. People saw it like Lanny was lying, merely trying to capitalize on his brother's fame, thinking that he could sneak into the Hall Of Fame that way. Looking back on their careers, Lanny and Angelo Poffo probably don't fit the criteria for the WWE Hall Of Fame. Lanny was never anything special in his WWF career, and Angelo saw only marginal success, but never with the WWF. If you ask most "in the know", they would say neither man deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame. It would truly be a shame if one of the greatest to ever do it had to remain on the outside, looking in, based on extreme loyalty to family, or even worse, based on lies and greed by his family that have nothing to do with him.
