10 Faces You Never Thought You'd See On WWE TV
8. Sandman
Although he was the precursor to Stone Cold Steve Austin’s lewd, beer-swilling, anti-hero character, Sandman certainly doesn’t fit the mold for a WWE Superstar. He’s not family-friendly or physically impressive, and his in-ring work leaves a lot to be desired. Basically, all the qualities that McMahon despises are what made him the poster child for ECW.
Perhaps that’s why he was the perfect choice to launch ECW’s invasion of the WWF. At In Your House: Mind Games, Sandman and Tommy Dreamer sat ringside. When Savio Vega and Bradshaw went outside the ring during their match, Sandman spit beer into Vega’s face and slammed the can into his forehead.
Although the live crowd believed it to be a real-life confrontation, McMahon had actually approved of the stunt ahead of time.
