10 Failed Attempts To Recreate Great Wrestling Stables
8. The Corre
After being deposed as leader of the Nexus by CM Punk, Wade Barrett was switched to SmackDown to form a new stable, consisting of himself and ex Nexus members, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater - the core of Nexus.
As to not appear as simplistic as it sounds, core was stylised with an extra r as Corre, presumably for dramatic effect.
Similarly, to try and modernise the stable, a fourth non-Nexus member was added into the fold, Ezekiel Jackson.
With continuity and originality to boot, the Corre announced, unlike Nexus, that they would be leaderless and equal.
However, also unlike Nexus, nobody gave a rat's arse about the group, as they chartered a course into mid-card tedium in early 2011.
While future one man band Slater and AJ Styles knock off Gabriel would have a reign with the copper penny tag team championships and Barrett would capture the Intercontinental title, the Corre's success would end there.
Succumbing to a two minute defeat at WrestleMania, the group's aimless run came to a close in June when Jackson walked out of the group and right into obscurity shortly after.
The Corre is today survived in WWE by just Heath Slater.
