10 Failed Attempts To Recreate Great Wrestling Stables
7. The Shield
As reunions in wrestling go, fewer were more eagerly anticipated than the Shield's in 2017.
With all three hounds of justice back on the same brand as rule abiding protagonists and Vince McMahon seeking any available method of garnering cheers for Roman Reigns, The Shield were finally reunited.
After weeks of melodramatic indecision on the part of Dean Ambrose, he buried the hatchet with Rollins.
When the opinion splitting Reigns joined the party and the trio fist bumped, a rare moment of communal approval was elicited from the masses.
And then it all died on its arse.
First Reigns came down with pneumonia and was replaced by a slow motion version of Kurt Angle in the group's comeback match at TLC in October.
The Shield finally and triumphantly reunited as a threesome in the ring at Survivor Series against the New Day, but it was to be one of only two matches in a comeback mired by injury.
Mere weeks later, Dean Ambrose tore his triceps, an injury that has seen him sidelined until the present day, stopping the Shield reunion in its tracks.
Rollins was teamed up with the abhorred Jason Jordan, while Reigns picked up his previous mantle of being abhorred himself, rendering the Sheild reunion a brief and distant memory.
