10 Fake Versions Of Popular WWE Superstars
1. Ultimate Warrior - Dominick Yaniero
The long standing rumour of there being two Ultimate Warrior’s during Jim Hellwig’s WWE tenure is legendary. The rumour was even addressed (and quashed) in WWE’s “Self Destruction...” DVD in 2005. Despite being discredited, the rumour would become a reality in 2007.
During the run-up to Rob Reeder’s ill-fated Dream Reunion II show in Kokomo, Indiana, the event promoted a “mystery guest”, accompanied by a somewhat ultimate silhouette of a warrior-like individual. Dream Reunion had done so as hype for a genuine Jim Hellwig appearance, all the while lacking the small detail of actually booking him.
Reeder was unsuccessful in his after-the-fact attempt to secure Hellwig, and needed a suitable replacement. Better yet, he needed a War-yahhhhhhh! Enter Dominick Yaniero - enter One Warrior Nation.
Despite a brief flirtation with the wrestling business in the '80s, Dominick Yaniero didn’t enter the squared circle himself until 2007. With little training and in his 40s at the time, Yaniero would soon find himself booked for Dream Reunion II and the One Warrior Nation character was born. Briefly.
The inevitable “cease and desist” letter would quickly find it’s way to Mr Yaniero, along with numerous death threats, proposed acts of violence, and general unpleasantries - including numerous posts from the real Warrior himself.
