10 Fake Versions Of Popular WWE Superstars
3. Razor Ramon - Rick Bognar
With a heel Jim Ross as his mouthpiece, "Razor Ramon" was reintroduced to a gobsmacked WWF audience in September '96. After several weeks of JR teasing a "major announcement", Rick Bognar in Razor Ramon getup was received with as much excitement as a speeding fine.
Bognar was actually a well-travelled worker by this time, having appeared in Japan and ECW as Big Titan. However, when the fans were led to believe they would be getting the return of Scott Hall, a low-rent "Bad Guy" substitute was never going to fly.
While the JR heel turn was dropped soon after, the fake Razor stuck around, appearing on several episodes of Raw and Superstars, notably against Marc Mero, Rocky Maivia, and even Bret Hart. Bognar (as Razor) would even appear at Survivor Series '96 in Madison Square Garden and get a WWF Tag Team Title shot alongside the fake Diesel at In Your House 12, coming up short against Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith.
His last televised appearance came at the 1997 Royal Rumble, where Bognar entered at number three, lasting just 17 seconds before being eliminated by Ahmed Johnson. Bognar would return to Japan as Big Titan and ironically follow in Scott Hall's footsteps once again by joining nWo Japan.
