Lita's alignment with The Hardy Boyz in 2000 was yet more magic made by a creative crew in sublime form.

A perfect fit for the act as the popular duo became 'Team Extreme', Lita's shift away from former Light Heavyweight Champion Essa Rios to tag team megastars Matt and Jeff couldn't have suited either side better. She had just enough in her physical arsenal to level up to the skill of the high flying brothers, and their chemistry as underdog allies was visually apparent.

The company elected to acknowledge the real life romance in early 2001 didn't damage the aesthetic either, though was awkwardly manipulated during the team's first failed split later in the year. Hardy's heel turn tore them apart in 2002, and did again when he moved to Monday Night Raw in 2003 just to vindictively do the same again. A ludicrous feud with Kane briefly brought them back together in 2004, before a 2005 separation sent shockwaves through the industry.
