Aleister Black is undeniably cool. He's a badass tattooed striker with an aura of danger and intrigue around him (as long as you limit his mic time to thirty seconds or so). But on the main roster, they'll overexpose him and ruin him within weeks.
There is no subtlety or nuance there, and his character is all about subtlety and nuance. Yes, in the ring, he will shine, slotting in nicely at IC or US title level, but given how things turned out for the last tattooed guy with poise and substance on the main roster, he won't progress any further than that.
And given that he's already been overshadowed by the likes of Gargano and Ciampa in NXT, that's a bad precedent.
