At WrestleMania XXVII in 2011, two men with tremendous talent and luscious hair wrestled their last matches on the grandest stage of them all. One left as champion, the other wasn't so fortunate.

Edge defeated Alberto Del Rio to retain his World Heavyweight Championship but was forced into retirement after a doctor, learning his neck was hanging on by a thread, told him he'd probably die if he didn't. He received a hero's send-off, retiring as champion and one of the most decorated stars in history.

John Morrison fought in a mixed tag team match, alongside Trish Stratus and Snooki, defeating Dolph Ziggler, Layla and Michelle Undertaker, née McCool. After that match he rebuffed Trish, disrespecting the legend and refused to sign a new contract in November.

Both men have returned to the fold, Morrison in 2019 to reunite with old tag team partner The Miz and capture doubles gold once again. Edge made a second shock return at the 2020 Royal Rumble, spearing the entire field and eventually setting up a feud with old rival Randy Orton.

Both men would compete in matches at WrestleMania 36, nine years after they had left the company, Morrison in an excellent triple threat ladder match for the tag team gold, and Edge in a last man standing match against Orton that was pretty boring... well, there was one moment that stood out but let's not mention that.
