10 Fascinating Facts About WWE WrestleMania 36
6. WWE Tried To Get Hulk Hogan To Appear
Not having Hulk Hogan appear at WrestleMania seems wrong somehow. On the other hand, after years of controversy following disastrous leaks regarding his personal activities, maybe it's best he doesn't. Nevertheless, WWE had tried to get the Hulkster to appear at WrestleMania this year in some capacity.
Had the Hall of Fame taken place, he almost certainly would have appeared anyway as part of the traditional role-call for the 2020 inductees, as he was due to be inducted for a second time along with his New World Order cohorts, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman. With the annual ceremony suspended his appearance was obviously canned but WWE still wanted Hogan to appear.
Following his triumphant return to the show last year, the two parties were apparently negotiating a deal but nothing came from it because of financial differences. Or to put it simply, Hulk wasn't getting paid enough. He apparently still wants one more 'Mania bout against Vince McMahon so this is unlikely to be the last we see of Hogan on the grand stage.
