Poffo, the younger brother of Macho Man Randy Savage, possessed grace, athletic ability, and theatricality that many other wrestlers could aspire to. Throughout his WWE run that spanned from 1985 to 1992, Poffo was mostly used as enhancement fodder (as "Leaping Lanny") or as antagonistic accompaniment (as The Genius). Rarely was the younger Poffo a featured player, aside from his partnership with Mr. Perfect.

Poffo only wrestled one pay-per-view match for WWE, going to a double-disqualification with Brutus Beefcake at the 1990 Rumble. The match was basically a segue into Beefcake's feud with Mr. Perfect, who attacked Beefcake's ribs with a steel chair in the post-match shenanigans.

That one match aside, Poffo would spend the rest of his WWE tenure, in regards to pay-per-views, either managing on them, or being left off of them entirely.
