In the opening match of the 1990 Rumble, Jacques and Raymond Rougeau dropped an extended comedy match to The Bushwhackers. With the loss, the Rougeaus would depart from WWE, with older brother Raymond formally ending his in-ring career at age 34.

The Rougeaus had actually stopped wrestling for the company shortly after the 1989 Survivor Series, going inactive for two months before working the Rumble in what amounted to a one-off.

According to Bruce Prichard, Raymond was tired of the travel, and yearned to enjoy a leisurely life close to home. Prichard also says that Raymond continued to wrestle as a favor to Jacques, keeping the team alive to support his brother's own career. Jacques, of course, would resurface later in 1990 as The Mountie.
