10 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Brock Lesnar

8. He Doesn't Stay To Watch The Events

There's a joke among fans that Brock Lesnar only goes on first or last.

Look up any event where Brock was in the opening match and you'll likely read he was on a plane back to Saskatchewan before the main event started. It's part of why he left in 2004: he wanted to spend as little time as possible on the road.

Can you blame him?

Brock's had the best contract in the business since he returned in 2012, but his relationship with Vince McMahon has been his biggest trump card. Who'd have thought when he left under a cloud of smoke, went through numerous lawsuits, and broke a no-compete clause, that he and WWE's former CEO would be the best of friends a decade later?

If you told a wrestler from the 1980s that one of the biggest stars wasn't going to watch the rest of a pay-per-view from backstage, they'd rant about how the younger generation doesn't respect the business anymore. It's well established that the Beast Incarnate loves working for WWE now; he's said it enough times in interviews over the last decade. He's also not afraid to admit that he wants to enjoy being in the remoteness of Saskatchewan, with his family, in the privacy of his own home.

It's a good deal if you can get it.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
