10 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Brock Lesnar
4. He Does Make-A-Wish Foundation Work
This one's a well-kept secret that doesn't need to be.
Brock Lesnar has a reputation for being a difficult person to speak to. He regularly stays in character for interviews, so acts like he'd rather be anywhere else than standing with a microphone in his face answering questions. It makes sense. He's the Beast Incarnate and his job is to throw people around, raise a WWE Championship above his head, then fly back to Saskatchewan as quickly as possible.
That isn't what the real Brock Lesnar is like though.
As much as WWE wants to keep kayfabe alive, every few years a news story sneaks out with pictures of Brock spending time with children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. WWE has worked with the Foundation for years, but they usually only promote the work of the babyfaces; that's why you know John Cena has granted more wishes than anybody else. He does it year after year and so does the Next Big Thing.
Over the years, fans have come to realise that Lesnar isn't a mercenary with a part-time contract, he's a man who really cares about the business. Meeting children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions is something his character would never do, but he's nothing like that. If you look hard enough, you'll find a photo of a child putting Brock in a headlock; some wrestlers haven't been able to do that!
WWE is no stranger to getting things wrong, but working with the foundation is one of the best decisions the company has ever made.
