10 Fascinating WWE King Of The Ring 1995 Facts

7. The Entrance Way Guards Looked Awful Familiar

As part of the regal pageantry of the King of the Ring event, fans would see many kingly props like the winner's throne, as well as the crown jewels and cape. To add to the pomp, two men were stood at the entrance way in colorful body suits, opening the door for each entrance and exit like palace guards.

Those two men just happened to be a young Matt and Jeff Hardy, who at the time routinely performed as squash fodder on weekly programming. Matt was only 20 years old, while Jeff was a spry 17, and both were several years into their careers.

The following night, at the tapings for Monday Night Raw, Jeff would lose to new character Waylon Mercy, while Matt would put over fellow future star Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
