A bit of a deja vu, as exactly 18 entrants in the 1993 Royal Rumble were gone by year's end, too. The same number holds true for the 1995 Rumble match, with 18 out of the 30 no longer being with WWE by the time 1996 rolled around.

The 18 who left for one reason or another include Eli & Jacob Blu, Jimmy Del Ray, Sionne, Doink the Clown, Rick Martel, Well Dunn, The Bushwhackers, King Kong Bundy, Men on a Mission, Mantaur, Dick Murdoch, Adam Bomb, Crush, and (most infamously) Lex Luger. Mabel and both Bushwhackers popped up at brief times in 1996, but were no longer full-time members of the roster.

The 12 who survived include Michaels, Smith, Duke Droese, Tom Prichard, Kwang, Owen Hart, Aldo Montoya, Henry Godwinn, The Smoking Gunns, Bob Backlund, and Fatu. As usual for the time, the roster was an unsteady one, with more alterations to come.
