9. Chris Jericho Got A Bit Carried Away The Night Before The Rumble
It was a genuine surprise when Chris Jericho entered the Royal Rumble match as the number two entrant. Y2J hadn't been seen since August, and there was little to no buzz at that point about an impending return.
"Buzz" has another meaning in regards to party-hard rock star Jericho, who's outlined some of the less-responsible drinking incidents he's had over the years. One such incident occurred in Anaheim the night before the Rumble, when Jericho attended the North American Music Merchants Convention.
According to Jericho in an interview later in 2013, he was getting hammered with members of the band Avenged Sevenfold, when he drunkenly created a scene that nearly resulted in his arrest. In Jericho's words, through his haze he still managed to realize, "If I get arrested and thrown in the drunk bank tonight and miss the Royal Rumble, I’m probably gonna be in pretty big trouble."
He eventually settled down, and one night later performed for 48 minutes in said Rumble match.
