It's not as lengthy of a streak as the IC belt, but it's also worth a note. Kalisto won the United States championship from Alberto Del Rio in a spirited bout, which also marked the first time that the US belt changed hands at any Rumble.

There had only been two prior US Title matches at the event, and one of them was a Kickoff match (Cesaro vs. The Miz in 2013). The only other main show defense was The Miz retaining over MVP in 2010, more than six years after the championship became a part of the SmackDown brand.

In other words, from 2003 through 2015, the only men's secondary, non-weight-exclusive singles title defense on a Royal Rumble main show was The Miz vs. MVP in 2010. That seems a bit random.
