Across the decades of the Royal Rumble, certain numbers have proven lucky when it comes to winning this over-the-top extravaganza.

Historically, #27 is the best number to get, for four men have gone on to win the Rumble from that spot. Elsewhere, there have been three victors from the #24 and #30 spots, and several other numbers have produced multiple winners over the years.

What was unique about the 2020 men's Royal Rumble, though, is that this was the first time in the event's history where somebody has won the bout from the #16 spot. That winner, of course, was Drew McIntyre, who last 34 minutes in the Rumble and eliminated six opponents on his way to vicotry.

While there clearly is not as much history behind the women's Royal Rumble as the men's Rumble, 2020 saw Charlotte Flair become the first women to win the contest from the #17 spot. Previously, Asuka drew #25 on her way to Rumble success in 2018, while Becky Lynch nabbed Lana's #28 position as the Man cemented herself a WrestleMania main event in 2019.
