Ask any wrestling fan, "If you were booking the 1994 SummerSlam, and you had to squeeze in Macho Man Randy Savage somewhere on the card, where would you put him?" Chances are, you'd come up with something a lot more appetizing than what WWE wound up doing.

Instead of wrestling in a match (which would've been his preference), the sparingly-used Savage was put to use as a 'master of ceremonies', introducing Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler at the start of the broadcast. Additionally, he made one brief appearance later in the show to offer a hot take on the Shawn Michaels/Diesel dissension, and that was all she wrote.

Savage wrestled his last match for the company in Rostock, Germany on September 13, and taped his final appearances in mid-October. By the first weekend of November, Savage had signed with WCW.
