Austin was still at the zenith of his popularity, ranking 1a and 1b with The Rock on the professional wrestling depth chart of coolness. But even Austin had his moments where he looked less than snazzy. One such incident occurred at SummerSlam 1999, and the company's top heel had to save him.

Right after Jesse Ventura's run-in with Shane McMahon during the main event, Austin began climbing the turnbuckles. According to Stone Cold, it was his first time wearing a second knee-brace, and he wasn't comfortable with it. He ended up tumbling, getting tangled up in the ropes, and was at a loss to free himself.

Most eyes were on Ventura, who was enjoying a moment of shine in front of his constituency. The Governor apparently didn't hear Austin screaming for him to come over and help liberate him from the rope-trap, and it was up to Triple H to run over and pull Austin up while still making it look like he was assaulting him. It's all about teamwork, really.
