Hey, remember when The Great Khali was World Heavyweight Champion, because everybody else was hurt, and WWE decided to try and cash-in on his size before he was completely immobile? That reign led to a rather awful match at SummerSlam between he and Batista, where Khali got himself disqualified in under seven minutes, after delivering some weak chair shots.

In house shows from earlier in the month, WWE was booking Batista vs. Khali in matches that would only go a few minutes before Finlay would run in for a DQ. Those matches would turn into handicap bouts pitting Khali and Finlay against Batista, so that reliable Finlay could shoulder the burden.

In some instances on those shows, Kane or Rey Mysterio (before his TV return) would make the save for Batista, turning the matches into tag team contests. Either way, WWE didn't want Khali doing much, and for good reason.
