10 Fascinating WWE SummerSlam 2012 Facts
9. WWE Wanted To Book Daniel Bryan Against Charlie Sheen
Sheen's deadpan comic timing and affable charm took a backseat to his various arrests, dangerously-wild life of partying, and his unrepentant grinning over both. By 2011, when the star acrimoniously left the TV series Two and a Half Men, Sheen turned the media on its head with his probably-calculated meltdown of public tirades and catchphrase-coining ("WINNING!!!!!!")
Shortly before SummerSlam, Sheen became the star of the FX TV-series Anger Management. WWE wanted to go for the celebrity tie-in by having disgruntled Daniel Bryan (who, *cough*, needed anger management) wrestle him at SummerSlam.
Sheen disinterestedly insulted Bryan on the Raw 1000 episode in July, but that was it. Sheen never did anything else for WWE, despite the company pushing hard for SummerSlam. According to the Wrestling Observer, somebody reportedly asked Sheen about the SummerSlam match, and he cracked that it would cost WWE a lot of money to get him.
