WrestleMania's had a couple pre-show title changes to its credit: Carlito and Primo over The Miz and John Morrison at 25, and The Miz over IC Champion Wade Barrett at 29. SummerSlam has had one title change take place pre-pay-per-view, and the match seems like a weird mix of eras in hindsight.

Cesaro (back when he still had his "Antonio" attached, and entered to stock music that sounded like "Chelsea Dagger") captured the WWE United States title from Santino Marella, and got cheered quite loudly for doing so. Cesaro would go on to hold the belt for the next eight months, largely because Vince had probably forgotten that he worked there.

Cesaro's reign was marked by a feud with The Miz, that time he yodeled, and then that other time that he yodeled. Really, there was a lot of yodeling for some reason.
