At one time, Durst was part of "WWE's favorite band" (which has to be read in Tony Chimel's voice), but the banner days of Limp Bizkit's hyper-aggressive rap-rock had come and gone. Their 2011 album Gold Cobra didn't reach glorious Chocolate Starfish heights, and WWE had moved on to other contemporary music for their pay-per-views (which isn't to say that any of it was an improvement over "Crack Addict").

The gradual divide between WWE and their "favorite band" became clear at SummerSlam, during a celebrity roll-call before the main event. Durst was spotlighted, and he kicked it Attitude Era-style by telling the cameraman that he was number one. This didn't sit well with the overlords of now-sanitized WWE.

Reportedly, Kevin Dunn freaked out when Durst's middle finger was shown, and the Bizkit frontman was subsequently escorted out of the Staples Center. He would later say in a 2015 interview that the band were still wrestling fans, but not 'WWE fans', and called the company's image-consciousness "f--king p-ssified."
