Five on five, four or four, doesn't matter to the Macho Man (by this time known as the Macho King). Savage is the only man at the 1987 through 1989 Survivor Series events to have survived on all three shows. Not even Hulk Hogan, who suffered a countout elimination in 1987, gets that distinction.

In the opener of 1987, Savage prevailed alongside Jake Roberts and Ricky Steamboat in a match that saw the babyface contingent tee off on The Honky Tonk Man. A year later, the Mega Powers triumphed over a Twin Towers-led fivesome.

In 1989, Savage led a dominant heel victory over Hacksaw Jim Duggan's 4X4s team. Savage, Dino Bravo, and Earthquake all survived, leaving Greg Valentine as the only King's Court member to be eliminated.
