Sometimes it's hard to imagine wrestlers existing in certain companies in certain years. One of the best examples is NWA-oriented Barry Windham wrestling for WWE in 1989. But that he did, wrestling for McMahon from June through October of that year.

Initially, Windham was to compete at Survivor Series on Randy Savage's King's Court team, but ended up being replaced by newcomer Earthquake. Windham's last televised match was filmed in early October, and aired six weeks later, 11 days before Survivor Series, so he had a televised presence fairly close to the Thanksgiving pay-per-view.

In reality, Windham had a few issues going on in his personal life. Reportedly, he had a benign tumor removed from his chest in mid-October. Additionally, in December, Windham's father Robert (Blackjack Mulligan) and brother Kendall were arrested for their part in a counterfeiting ring. Despite all of the troubles going on outside the ring, Windham did resurface in NWA/WCW in May 1990.
