Undertaker ended up getting Brown's spot on Dibiase's team, coming in as a mystery partner. The general idea was to facilitate a big chill upon Undertaker's arrival, creating a collective, "Holy hell, what is that guy?" reaction. Truly, Undertaker achieved that goal in what is oft cited as his debut match for the company.

In truth, it was Undertaker's fifth match for WWE, though his first to be televised. Because the advance TV shows were taped several days before Survivor Series, Undertaker filmed two squash wins that would air in syndication in December (over jobbers Mario Mancini and Rick Sampson), as well as two untelevised bouts, one of which he defeated Dusty Rhodes.

The other, a win over regular enhancement talent Jim McPherson on November 19, stands as The Undertaker's first official WWE match.
