The casket match only going five and a half minutes likely didn't raise too many eyebrows - it was a dominant win for a popular character, and nobody was expecting a technical classic between The Undertaker and Kamala anyhow.

However, it was reported in the October 19, 1992 edition of The Wrestling Observer that The Undertaker was expected to miss significant time with bone chips in his elbow and shoulder. He was pulled from house show appearances in the latter half of October, and was apparently once thought to be in danger of missing Survivor Series.

As it turns out, The Undertaker was back in action two weeks before the pay-per-view, but only working short matches with Nailz at live events, all of which went less than a minute. The brief matches were likely meant to take it easy on an ailing "Phenom".
