10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 1998 Facts

8. The Event's Theme Song Would Be Recycled For Later Use

The common music flavors associated with wrestling in 1998 were rap-rock, nu-metal, and gangsta rap. You know, pretty much anything with an aggressive beat that could sync up with wrestling's relative lawlessness.

Interestingly, Survivor Series' theme was a bit off of that beaten path. The in-house production, entitled "Deadly Game", had an achy, melancholic tone, underscored by a forceful boldness. It gave off a distinctly-retro vibe, a sullen ballad complete with soulful back-up singers. An eclectic soundtrack to the Stone Cold/Undertaker era of permeating destruction, for sure.

Even weirder, the song found renewed life in 2006. Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman covered the song for the No Way Out pay-per-view, headlined by Kurt Angle and The Undertaker. That'd be like System of a Down covering Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine". Which sounds pretty awesome, actually.
