Victoria had come a long way from her brief run as one of Godfather's feisty sidekicks. After extensive training down in OVW, she returned to WWE's main roster in the summer of 2002. Her obvious in-ring skill complimented her ability to play a frenetic sociopath, justifying a rather quick push out of the gate. Little more than four months after her call-up, Victoria was unseating Trish Status at Survivor Series to become Women's Champion.

Victoria's win marked the first time the Women's Championship changed hands at the Garden since Fabulous Moolah (covertly dressed as The Spider Lady) infamously defeated Wendi Richter for the belt on 25 November 1985. That particular change marked the fourth time the Women's belt changed at MSG since July 1984. After Victoria's win over Stratus, the belt never swapped waists in the venue again.
