You may recall in the 2002 edition of the Survivor Series facts that Triple H wanted to have War Games at that year's event. The compromise was the Elimination Chamber, as Vince preferred a WWE innovation over something that someone else created.

In 2004, according to Figure 4 Weekly, Triple H reportedly once more pushed for a War Games match for Survivor Series, likely back when Randy Orton was still part of Evolution. The idea of pitting Helmsley's Horsemen-ish group against a contingent of, say, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and either Edge or Shelton Benjamin, could've been an incredible spectacle. Especially since wrestlers could bleed back then.

Once more, it's said that McMahon turned down the idea, as War Games wasn't his brainchild. Good thing there's NXT for presenting a product free from those McFingerprints.
