In keeping the Survivor Series lineage going in 2010, perhaps WWE was banking on the overwhelming fan sentiment to boost the buyrate over the previous year's disaster. The numbers did go up, but not wildly so.

The 2010 Survivor Series was good for 244,000 buys, up from the 225,000 the previous year. The 2009 show's total was possibly compromised by a UFC pay-per-view running the previous night, and 2010 wasn't done many favors by the Zuffa giant either.

The night before Survivor Series 2010, UFC ran another event, this one headlined by a light-heavyweight battle pitting Quinton Jackson against Lyoto Machida. The war between 'Rampage' and 'The Dragon' managed 500,000 buys, more than doubling Survivor Series. Wonder if McMahon regretted his change of heart at any point?
