Stipulations in wrestling are like the points in Whose Line is it Anyway?: they don't matter. John Cena was fired, eighty-sixed, terminated, finished following Survivor Series, right? Yeah, right. WWE didn't even let the dust settle before trotting their biggest star back out in front of the crowds.

In addition to remaining a fixture on television prior to his "rehiring", Cena still worked house shows. He did so under a lucha libre mask as "Juan Cena", the heretofore-unmentioned Mexican cousin of John Cena. The Midnight Rider, it wasn't.

The first match that "Juan Cena" took part in was on 28 November, just one week after Survivor Series, where he failed to win a triple threat WWE Championship match involving The Miz and Wade Barrett. To put it mildly, WWE was not about to let an absent Cena kill the already-lithe house show attendance.
