After four years on WWE's main roster, Montel Vontavious Porter took part in what could very well be his final WWE pay-per-view ever, the 2010 Survivor Series. MVP competed in the five-on-five elimination match, and was the first wrestler to be ousted from the battle.

Around the time of the show, MVP says he was being pressured to sign a contract extension with one year left on his existing deal. He was unhappy with his role in the company at the time, and had wanted to give Japan a shot. Less than two weeks after Survivor Series, MVP asked for his release, and John Laurinaitis gave it to him.

MVP filmed his final WWE appearance nine days following the pay-per-view. He and Kaval lost to Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, and were then assaulted by an irate Kane moments later.
