It wasn't Matt Striker's night, and that was made clear by his blown call at the end of the main event. In general, Striker was reported to have not been on good terms with partners Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, and their three man booths were certainly not the most cohesive. Striker's level of energy didn't exactly jive with the overtly pre-fab announcing of Cole.

It was reported by The Wrestling Observer that during the show, likely during a brief ad break or backstage segment, Cole removed his headset and openly dressed down Striker for talking too much. This was possibly at the behest of (over)producer Vince McMahon himself, who was apparently not a Striker guy either.

It wouldn't be much longer until Striker was outright replaced on WWE pay-per-views. His wildly-delivered "markout moment" comment at the 2011 Royal Rumble was basically his nominal curtain call.
